GLOBAL HEALTHSHARE® INITIATIVE

Editha Zhang

Research Analyst

Editha is a recent graduate from the University of California, Berkeley where she majored in Molecular and Cell Biology and Public Health. After graduating, Editha spent time as a research assistant at the University of California, San Francisco before deciding to move back to her hometown of Davis. Upon relocation, Editha learned of Global HealthShare through an article in a local newspaper in February 2011 and promptly joined our team. Editha is enthusiastic about global health and recently presented a concept note on the optimization of rural dairy chains in Africa at the "Food and Health Entrepreneurship Academy" organized by the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. Outside of Global HealthShare, Editha volunteers at a community clinic providing reproductive health education to low-income and underserved populations in Yolo County. Through both of these experiences, she developed a passion for health disparities research, particularly as it relates to global maternal and child health. Her specific research interests include maternal nutrition and perinatal health, and the role of health education and community development in promoting health equity among underserved populations. Editha will pursue a Masters in Public Health at UC Davis beginning in Summer 2012. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, playing board games, and creative cooking.
