Dr. Galvez is a scientist at the Center of Excellence in Nutritional Genomics whose research focuses on the molecular mechanism of the anti-cancer effect of the soy protein lunasin. He is also a consultant and Chief Science Advisor to Soy Labs, LLC, a subsidiary of the Missouri Soybean Board. He has an adjunct Assistant Professor appointment with the University of Missouri at Columbia, is a research member of the UC Davis Cancer Center and reviewer for NIH Food/Diet and Cancer studies. Before joining UC Davis, Dr. Galvez worked for the USDA-ARS at Washington State University and was President and CEO of FilGen Biosciences, a start-up biotech company involved in commercializing the anti-cancer properties of lunasin. He holds many patents and has published articles in prestigious journals including Nature Biotechnology and Cancer Research.
